Performed functional testing to demonstrate the effectiveness of draining ultrafiltration modules by gravity only, and by both the plant wash and the air purging methods. Full-scale ultrafilter modules, 100-in. porous tube length, containing 241 tubular membranes were provided for the test.

K Basins Sludge Vacuum Testing
Participated in an engineering development and analysis project intended to demonstrate and verify system models of a Fluidic Transfer System. The test configuration, including the assay system piping and hose run lengths and elevations, was designed to mimic in-plant conditions to the extent possible.

Progressive Cavity Transfer Pump Proof-of-Principle Testing
Conducted proof-of-principle testing to verify performance and durability of a progressive cavity pump for the K Basins sludge transfer process. Developed the test procedure, set up and executed the test, and prepared the final test documentation for the proof-of-principle test.

Autosampling System Testing
Supplied design engineering and testing support of the autosampling system, which will remotely take samples of liquids and glass shards at numerous (~60) sampling points and automatically transfer the samples via a pneumatic tube transport system to the Analytical Laboratory for analysis.

Slurry Transfer Pump Erosion Testing
Fabricated and tested two erosion test loops to test erosion in a centrifugal pump and piping components at the K Basins. The first 100-hour test used two sludge simulant formulations based on K Basins container sludge. The second 7-hour test used sludge simulant formulations based on K Basins container sludge, settler sludge, and knock-out pot sludge.
