| Our Company: Mid Columbia Engineering, Inc. (MCE) specializes in the design/build/test of custom mechanical handling and process equipment for the nuclear industry since 1975. We have a fully implemented Nuclear Quality Assurance Program which meets industry standards such as 10 CFR 831.120, ASME NQA-1 (2004) and 10 CFR 50, Appendix B. Our fabrication facilities include a 15-ton bridge crane with a 25’ hook height as well as a 40’ test tower and a large lay down and test area. We also have a UL-certified 508A/698A electrical panel shop. MCE has been a fabricator of systems and components for some of the most prominent projects in the DOE EM program including the Waste Treatment Plant at Hanford, DUF6 conversion plants at Portsmouth Ohio and Paducah KY, WSB facility at Savannah River, Thor Treatment Project at Idaho Falls, and MOX facility at Savannah River. We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of NuVision Engineering Company, Inc.  Recent Projects: MCE projects for commercial and quality levels:  John Hayfield Joins NuVision & MCE: John Hayfield has recently been appointed President of NuVision Engineering, Inc. (Federal Business Segment), where he is responsible for delivery of innovative technical solutions in the areas of waste retrieval and waste management, primarily in the US and UK. Mr. Hayfield will also serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer for NuVision Engineering’s subsidiary, Mid Columbia Engineering, Inc., where he is responsible for all aspects of the engineering and fabrication business in Richland, WA. Mr. Hayfield was formerly the Senior Vice President and Global Director of Nuclear Materials and Decommissioning for WorleyParsons Limited. He also served as President and General Manager of WorleyParsons Polestar, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of WorleyParsons. Prior to acquisition by WorleyParsons in 2007, Mr. Hayfield was a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of Polestar Applied Technology, Inc. Other notable experience includes Operations Manager of Hanford’s PUREX Plant in the 1990’s. Mr. Hayfield holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Washington State University. |
